Four finger threadfin are elongated in appearance and they are found in marine and brackish waters of the Indo-pacific oceans. An adult fish of this species can weigh up to 145 kg. They inhabit the shallow muddy water of the coastal regions. This is a species of fish that can undergo sex reversal (from male to a female) after the spawning period is generally over.
The flesh is white and has a creamy flavor to it. They are sweet-tasting fish. They have firm flesh and bigger flakes. That is why they can be barbecued or grilled like steaks if they are large. The fish can also be baked, pan-fried or deep-fried to suit your taste buds.
