Scientific Name – Cephalopolis sonneratti
Tomato-rock cod also called tomato hind is a reef-associated fish that inhabits the waters of the Indo-pacific oceans. They are found from the east coast of Africa to the Southern Queensland in Australia. They generally inhabit the sloppy reefs having rocky substrata.
The raw flesh is white and the texture of the meat is large soft to firm flakes. They have a fishy flavor and are mildly sweeter in taste.
